Maruti Wagon R Automatic (AMT) Launch Soon

Maruti seems to be set on the roll by the launch of AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) cars one after one. Maruti Celerio AMT and Maruti Alto K10 AMT have attracted a huge number of customers and both the cars have a long waiting period due to high demand. Seeing the success of these two cars, Maruti is now manufacturing the Maruti Wagon R AMT.

It was reported that Maruti is working to increase the production of AMT cars to 43%. Maruti seems to have taken a step forward in the same context. Not only this, now the report stating that 30% of the cars in India will feature AMT by 2020 seems to be coming true whenย every manufacturer is working on producing AMT cars. Earlier this month, Toyota also mentioned that all its cars will be launched as automatic cars in India.

Wagon R Stingray AMT-1

Maruti will launch the AMT version of Wagon R Automatic only in theย Stingray edition to keep it at the premium end line up. Maruti Wagon R Stingray comes in 3 variants- VXi (O) Petrol, VXi (Petrol) and LXi (Petrol). It is powered by ย 998cc three cylinder engine producing maximum power ofย 68 PS at 6,200 rpm andย 90 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 RPM. It features a 5 speed transmission. The dimensions of the car are 3636 x 1475 x 1670 mm ( L x W x H). The wheelbase isย 2400 mm with a ground clearance of 165 mm.

2014-15 Maruti Alto K10 New Model (5)

The AMT version of the car will cost around 30,000-35,000 more than the non AMT model. Maruti supplierย Magnetti Marelli imports AMT kits from Italy. It already receivesย 3,500 AMT kits per month for Celerio and Alto K10. This figure might increase to 5,000 units per month with the need of AMT gearboxes for Wagon R as well.

Wagon R Stingray AMT-3

People in urban cities, due to huge traffic and congested streets want a comfortable driving where AMT cars comes for rescue by providing a stress free driving. The driver will not have to press the clutch pedal and will have a smooth driving experience even in traffic. Thus, the AMT version of this car will boost up the sales and increase the market share of the company. With the popularity of all other AMT cars developed by Maruti, Wagon R AMT is also expected to do good business.
