New Honda Rebel 500 Launched in India

With this, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) marks a key milestone in its premium motorcycle portfolio in the country

The all-new Honda Rebel 500 has finally been launched in India. It comes in a single, fully-loaded variant with a price tag of Rs 5.12 lakh, ex-showroom Gurugram, Haryana. The bookings for this new cruiser motorcycle are now open at select BigWing Topline dealerships. Also, the deliveries are slated to commence from June 2025 onwards. Let us take a look at the details of this premium motorcycle in terms of design, features and performance.

New Honda Rebel 500 Launched

The new Rebel 500 brings a mix of classic cruiser design and modern features. The bike has a low seat height of 690 mm, which makes it easy to ride and control, even at low speeds. The Rebel 500 has a simple and bold look. It uses a tubular steel frame and comes in a single colour – Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic. The bike has seats for both rider and passenger. Its design includes a steep fuel tank, wide handlebars, and fat tyres, giving it a distinct “bobber” style. All lights on the Rebel are LED, including the round headlamp.

Specs

The motorcycle is powered by a 471cc, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, parallel-twin engine. It delivers 34 kW of power at 8,500 RPM and 43.3 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM. The engine is tuned for strong torque at low speeds and offers smooth power across the rev range. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The short exhaust produces a deep sound that suits its cruiser nature.

For comfort, the Rebel uses telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers by Showa. It has disc brakes on both ends — 296 mm at the front and 240 mm at the rear — with dual-channel ABS for added safety. The tyres are from Dunlop, with 130/90-16 at the front and 150/80-16 at the rear. A compact inverted LCD display shows key information clearly, blending modern tech with the bike’s classic design. Therefore, it packs in a lot of performance and a modern design. That is what the buyers will be attracted towards.

With its unmistakable street presence, torquey engine, and laid-back ergonomics, the Rebel 500 is perfect for riders looking for a machine that’s both engaging and a unique extension of their soul.”
