The mid-size SUV has been a critical product for MG in our market since 2019
Updated on 15.12.2025 – The MG Hector facelift has finally been seen without camouflage. Hector is a famous mid-size SUV which boasts a modern cabin and tons of connected tech features. The spy image showcases the front fascia of the SUV. The main attraction has to be the colossal grille finished in chrome. The LED DRLs are integrated on the corners of the grille, while the main LED headlamp clusters are positioned on the edges of the bumper. Even the lower part of the bumper looks rugged with a sturdy skid plate section.
I must admit the road presence of the new Hector will definitely be significantly more imposing in comparison to the existing model. Apart from that, the interior will continue to host the mammoth portrait-styled infotainment display at the centre of the dashboard with new AC vents and premium materials. Other bits include a digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, and much more. These images surfaced when the SUV was arriving at a dealership ahead of the launch. More details will emerge in the coming days.

Originally published on 03.12.2025 – In this post, we take a look at the details of the new MG Hector facelift, which was spotted performing road tests. Hector is an iconic model for MG by virtue of being the first car on sale from MG here. Ever since then, the brand has grown significantly. Note that since 2019, there has only been one prominent facelift of the SUV. Hence, another upgrade has been due for a while. For now, let us take a look at the details of what the new SUV will come with.
New MG Hector Facelift Spied
This post has been doing the rounds on the internet for the past few hours. Interestingly, we witness a rather unique way to camouflage the SUV. The carmaker has wrapped the body of the new Hector facelift with a simple green sheet. Still, some areas of the SUV are visible. For instance, the new design pattern of the alloy wheels looks attractive. At the front, we briefly get a glimpse of the LED lighting, the bumper and grille could bear slight tweaks to set it apart from the existing model.
Similarly, the tail section contains a new bumper with sturdy elements to elevate the road presence. We could even witness some minor changes to the connected LED taillamp. Finally, the side profile remains mostly unchanged, something very common with almost every facelift model. On the inside, the new Hector will become even more tech-laden with added amenities and tech. We know that MG makes some of the most advanced vehicles when it comes to in-cabin connectivity and technology. There is no reason to believe that it won’t be the case this time around, too.
Specs
The new MG Hector facelift will most likely retain the powertrain options of the existing model. Again, that is a common practice with most facelift models. Hence, we can expect it to carry the 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel mills, good for 143 PS / 250 Nm and 170 PS / 350 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The petrol engines can be paired with manual or automatic transmissions, while the diesel mill is solely offered with a manual gearbox. Let us wait for the launch to know all the details.
