The TVS Scooty series, which has been a popular buy among women riders in India, now gets another variant added to the lineup, the new TVS Scooty Zest 110. The scooter was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year and attracted enough attention from attendees.

Unlike its predecessors, the Scooty Streak and the Scooty Pep+, the Zest is a lot bolder, stylish and powerful. It is powered by a new 110 cc CVT-i single cylinder, air-cooled, carburetted engine which churns out 8 BHP and 8.8 Nm. Surprisingly the same engine is also shared by the bigger gear-less scooters from TVS like the Wego and Jupiter. The Zest also boasts of the best-in-class mileage rating of 62 KMPL.

Price

The new TVS Scooty Zest 110 is priced at Rs. 42,300, ex-showroom Delhi

Its headlight is familiar, with flush-fitted chic indicators on theย front apron, boldly showing off a TVS logo set on a black panel. The Zest gets side body panels with revised accents, along with a fancy rear end which gets a new LED tail-light and indicator setup that blends very well with the scooter’s aesthetics.

The instrument cluster is finished in white and is back-lit, placed attractively with a largeย speedometer, an odometer and fuel gauge. The instrument cluster also gets an ‘ECO’ lamp which encourages economical riding and a ‘long-idling’ lamp which tells riders to switch off the scooter when stuck in situations such as a traffic jam.

Paint Options

The Scooty Zest 110 is available in 5 metallic colours: Dynamic White, Terrific Torquoise, Powerful Pink, Daring Black and Fiery Red.

What Else?

A solitary bag hook is placed under the handlebar and the saddle. These compliment the 19-litre underseat storage and the open glovebox at the front for increased load carrying capacity.

The saddle is now longer and wider and gets white double-stitching for a more upmarket feel. A stylish and handy alloy grab rail helps the pillion rider feel safer. The front flatboard is broader than earlier for easier riding.

Suspension duties are handles by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. 90mm-section tubeless tyres shod to 10-inch steel wheels at the front and rear provide optimal grip and comfort. The low weight of around 97 Kg, low seat height of 760-mm and a tighter turning radius helps maneuver the scooter easily. Drum brakes are featured at the front and rear, a 110-mm one at the front and a 130-mm one at the rear.
