Renault has hiked the prices of the top-end RXZ variant of Triber. The company’s new budget MPV has already started grabbing eyeballs in the market. In just two months of launch, Renault has already sold over 10,000 units of the MPV.
The top-spec RXZ variant of Renault Triber gets a mild price hike of Rs 4000. The price range now starts at Rs 4.95 Lakhs up to Rs 6.53 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Other variants remain unaffected by this price hike.
Also, the Renault Triber now comes with 15-inch wheels on the RXZ variant, which is the reason for the price hike. You now get 185/65 R15 tyres instead of 185/80 R14 units. However, it is still offered with the flex wheel option alongside alloy wheels.
Renault Triber is one of the most affordable MPVs that you can buy in India. It comes with a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder petrol engine which pumps out 74 BHP and 96 Nm of peak torque. For the time being, it is only offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox but an AMT gearbox is scheduled to come by early 2020.
Features onboard the Triber include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multi-function steering wheel, digital speedometer, keyless entry, push-button start AC vents for all three rows, two gloved boxes, power windows, rear wash pipe and others.
Safety features onboard include rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, four airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder and speed alert system. The four airbags is a segment-first feature offered.
The ideal competitor for Renault Triber is the Datsun GO+, which is also available in a similar price range. However, with its pricing, it also finds itself competing with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Ford Figo.
