Royal Enfield have increased the price of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 for the first time by about Rs. 5,000 – Rs. 5,700, depending on the color options.

We had earlier reported that Royal Enfield would be hiking the price of its 650 twins by September. Now, Royal Enfield has officially increased the price of Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 by Rs. 5,000 to Rs, 5,700, depending on the color options you opt for. That’s an increment by about 2% and here’s a detailed look at how each model has been affected by this increase in price, all prices ex-showroom, Delhi.

However, these prices will differ from city to city. From its launch in November, the Royal Enfield 650 Twins had been selling at the very price they were introduced. This is the first time the 650 Twins are seeing an increment in price and it is not the last time either. The motorcycles will see another price hike when the engines are updated for the BS-VI emission norms.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 are the most powerful bikes in their segment where it competes against the KTM Duke 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. It is also the most powerful bikes Royal Enfield have ever produced. It uses a 648cc, parallel twin engine which churns out 47 bhp and 54 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it also comes with a slipper clutch.

Now with this price hike, the motorcycles have become more expensive than the KTM Duke 390 but its still the most affordable mid-displacement motorcycle you can buy in the country. And well enough, both these motorcycles have been getting Royal Enfield great numbers. The 650 twins are still seeing a waiting period of 3-4 months in some variants and if you still haven’t got one of these for yourself but are planning, we suggest you do it rather soon.
