Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 And GT 650 Price To Increase Soon

A new report suggests that the price of Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 might increase by the end of this month.

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and GT 650 have really developed a liking in the Indians for an high-capacity simple looking motorcycle. The 650 Twins are the most affordable parallel-twin machines that you can get in India right now.

While the Interceptor is priced from Rs 2.5 Lakhs to Rs 2.7 Lakhs, the GT 650 starts from Rs 2.65 Lakhs to Rs 2.85 Lakhs (ex-showroom). A new report from Gaadiwaadi says that the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and GT 650 will soon witness a price increase.

The price of the 650 Twins is likely to increase by Rs 10,000. The new prices will be effective from next week. However, the hike is unlikely to affect the popularity of the Twins.

Meanwhile, we also get to know that Royal Enfield has commenced the testing of BS-6 compliant 650 Twins, as the GT 650 was recently snapped near its plant in Tamil Nadu. The BS-6 versions of the Twins will just get an updated engine.

Both the motorcycles have garnered a lot of attention over the world, because of its pricing. The waiting period for both of them is still over four months depending on the variant and the city that you want it.

Interceptor is the better selling of two, primarily because it is more affordable and gets a relaxed riding position. The GT 650 is an old-school cafe racer and thus gets low-placed clip-on handlebars.

The 648cc air-cooled twin-parallel cylinder, that produces 47 BHP and 52 Nm of peak torque. It uses a 6-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. The engine is a typical Royal Enfield, offering oodles of torque.

The suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and a twin gas-charged shock absorber at the back. Dual-channel ABS with disc brakes at both the ends come as standard fitment.
