The Auto Expo 2016 is here again and we are just back fromย a rendezvous with some exciting machines that will be showcased in India at the latest edition of India’s popularย motor show. Suzuki Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd., which has launched decent machines in the form of the Gixxer 155 and the likes since the last Expo, has another set of promising motorcycles put on displayย at the AETMS 2016. We are just back from seeing a new variant of the Gixxer 155, Gixxer FI and new Access 125 among the Suzuki Bikes at Auto Expo 2016.

Suzuki Bikes at Auto Expo 2016 – Suzuki Gixxer [Dual Disc Variant]
The Gixxer has turned out to be a very successful model for Suzuki India and the manufacturer is looking to further strengthen its appeal by adding a dual disc variant to the line-up. Spotted testing a couple of times, the new variant will feature disc brakes at the front as well as the rear. Suzuki wouldn’t want to lose market share to Honda who recently launched the Hornet with front and rear disc brakes. Both the Gixxer and its faired cousin, the Gixxer SF will get this variant.

It is expected to cost around INR 4,000 more than the standard single disc variant.

Suzuki Bikes at Auto Expo 2016 – Suzuki Gixxer 250 India Debut
Our reliable sources inform us that a faired 250cc variant of the Gixxer will make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 followed by a launch in March. The Gixxer 250 will rival the likes of the Honda CBR250R and KTM RC200 when it goes on sale in India. The lower capacity Gixxer has seen witnessed tremedous success in India prompting Suzuki to expand the model range by bringing in newer, bigger capacity models.

The CBR250R rival is expected to come with a sticker price of around INR 2 lacs. There could be an ABS or non-ABS variant with the former priced slightly higher than the standard non-ABS Gixxer 250.

2016 Suzuki Hayate EP
Suzuki recently released images of the Hayate EP, which is essentially an updated version of the Hayate executive commuter motorcycle. The bike will be on display at the upcoming Auto Expo and willย go on sale in the coming months.

2016 Suzuki Hayate EP will be priced below the INR 50,000 mark. The current Hayate is priced at INR 47,812 (ex-showroom).

Powering the bike is aย 113ccย single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that belts out a max. power of 6.3 bhp and a peak torque ofย 9.3Nm. The engine comes mated to a four-speed manual gearbox.

Joining the Gixxers on stage will be Suzuki’s entire product lineup including their range of scooters and high-performance sports bikes. The manufacturer recently launched a couple of new ATVs in India and they could showcase more such ATVs from their international portfolio. Superbikes, concepts and maybe a few surprises could be a part of the upcoming Suzuki bikes at Auto Expo 2016.
