Suzuki is reportedly working on a 180cc Burgman for the global market, replacing the 200cc one. As of now, there are four versions ranging from 125cc to 650cc.

Suzuki Burgman is a popular scooter series in the global market, with models ranging from 125cc to 650cc. The maxi-scooter has received a good global response, and we in India, have the semi-maxi version of the Burgman 125.

If fresh reports from the Indonesian media are to be believed, Suzuki is planning to bring Burgman Street 180 in the global market. It will replace the 200cc version, which has to be soon updated as per the Euro-5 emission norms.

However, it is not confirmed that the 200cc version will co-exist with the Suzuki Burgman 180. The 180cc engine will be a newly developed unit which will directly comply with the upcoming emission norms.

The 180cc engine is expected to produce around 16-17 BHP and 15 Nm of peak torque. The 200cc engine produces 17.8 BHP and 16.8 Nm of torque, with a CVT gearbox. The mileage of the 180cc variant will be slightly better.

Unlike the Burgman that we have in India, the global model is a proper maxi scooter with a large unusual front apron and a bulky floorboard. Burgman is a maxi-styled touring scooter and with a big 650cc engine, you can actually do long-distance travelling.

The Burgman 180 will come with dual-channel ABS, LED headlamps, a digital instrument console, fuel injection system, a large boot, USB charging port and much more. A big Burgman can fit 2 helmets inside its boot.

Talking about its India launch, as of now there is no confirmation or report suggesting that. But various reports suggest that Suzuki is planning to introduce a more powerful scooter in India in the coming years.

The addition of the Burgman Street 180 to the India lineup can be a good thing for the manufacturer, seeing the good response that it has received for the Burgman 125. As of now, there are two 150cc scooters from Aprilia-Vespa and a 300cc scooter from 22 Motors-Kymco.
