It’s not the first time that the company has come up with a 150cc Intruder. Suzuki sells an Intruder 150cc in South America. However, the motorcycle that is about to launchย in Indian market looks much more like the M1800 than its South American counterpart. It definitely looks like the company plans to cash in on the high brand image that the 1800cc power cruiser enjoys. Prices of the Suzuki Intruder 150 in India are likely to start at roughly Rs 85,000. It will share its engine with the Gixxer. Hence, we expect similar specifications and mileage.

While the company is yet to announce the launch of the new 150cc Intruder, we think there are enough chances that the company will introduce the new cruiser bike on 7th.ย It may be noted here that the Avenger 150 has already found many takers in the very competitive 150cc motorcycle market. Now, SMIPL seems to be ready to give the Avenger 150 a run for its money by launching a much smaller version of its highly successful power cruiser.

As is clearly evident from the images here, the upcomingย 150cc cruiser motorcycle from Suzuki takes plenty of inspiration from the Intruder’s very attractive design. It boasts the same engine that also powers the Gixxer streetnaked. That said, the company will retune the motor to suit the cruiser bike characteristics of the new offering. For the Gixxer, theย 154.9 cc engine delivers a maximum power of 14.59 bhp @ 8000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission and offers a peak mileage of 64 kmpl.

Powering the upcoming Suzuki Intruder 150cc Cruiser motorcycle is the same engine that powers the Gixxer twins. For the Gixxer 155, this 154.9cc, single-cylinder SOHC engine outputs a maximum power ofย 14.5 BHPย at 8,000 RPMย and a peak torque of 14 Nm at 6,000 RPM. Power isย sent to the rear wheel via a 5-speed Manual Transmission. We are pretty sure that the company will re-tune this engine for its cruiser motorcycle. The engine is known to be sufficiently punchy whilst offering a high level of refinement. The new motorcycle gets a set of conventional telescopic forks at front and a monk shock at the rear.

As the engine comes from the Gixxer, we have a fair idea of what to expect in terms of mileage. We are pretty sure the 154.9cc engine will be able to return as much as 55 kmpl on the highway and around 50 kmpl in the city.
Suzuki Intruder 150 Design
So far, we have only a black-and-white image of theย motorcycle. However, the new model takes plenty of design inspiration from the Intruder M1800. Hence, the upcoming 150cc model offers a similar big bike look. Itย has manyย modern touches to its design while maintaining a cruiser bike form. The rear tyre is pretty wide (for this segment)ย to give that mean look, while there the seat height seems to be really low for a relaxed riding posture. The motorcycle gets a twin exhaust and disc brakes on both the wheels. The engine stays partially exposed. The new Suzuki Intruder 150 gets conventional telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear.
