Suzuki RMZ Dirt Bike series launched in India- Prices and Specs

Suzuki RMZ dirt bike series has been launched in India. The two bikes in this series are purely meant for off-roading purposes and not for public road driving. The two bikes are RM-Z250 and RM-Z450.ย 

Suzuki RMZ dirtbike series is launched in India. The RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 are purely meant for off-roading purposes and cannot be ridden on the public roads. The Motocross bikes are quite popular globally and are now available across selected dealerships in India. In India, off-roading and adventure riding activities are developing. Many groups organize off-roading or adventure riding events, where there are pure dirt bikes and modified ones as well. The RM-Z250 is priced at Rs 7.10 Lakhs and the RM-Z450 goes for Rs 8.30 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom New Delhi).

The RM-Z450 comes with a 449cc DOHC engine with fuel injection system. The Motocross is equipped with Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC), which comes with different selectable riding modes. The modes can be changed as per the road condition.

It also comes withย new balance free rear cushion (BFRC) technology, which ensures proper traction control and shock absorption, while riding over different terrains.

Another bike from the RMZ series, it the Suzuki RM-Z250. It comes with a 249cc DOHC engine with fuel injection system. It misses out on the Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control but is designed in a way to withstand Supercross, Motocross, and off-roading conditions.

The RMZ 450 weighs 112 kgs and the 250 weighs 106 kgs. For transmission duties, both the bike use a 5-speed constant mesh transmission. For suspension, both the bikes get KYB branded suspensions.

The RMZ dirt bikes series in basically illegal for the public roads. The reason is that it does not get headlights, tail lights, turn indicators and tires suitable for the public roads. In the global RMZ series, there are many Motocross and off-roading bikes. Earlier, a 50cc dirt bike for children and another 450cc bike was also speculated to come.

As of now, there are very few dirt bikes in India. In the similar price range of Suzuki RMZ series, Kawasaki also offers 2 dirt bikes with the same 250cc and 500cc engines.

Commenting on the launch of RMZ series,ย Mr Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Paying attention to this rising demand in the racing and adventure category, we are thrilled to launch these purpose-built motorcycles, RM-Z450 and RM-250. The bikes boast of great performance, distinctive design, and agility that is unique to RMZ series, offering great handling and control to riders.โ€
