Tata Altroz MPV Concept

The illustrator has presented a rather detailed side and front three quarters view of the MPV. Being based on the hatchback, the Tata Altroz MPV looks a lot like its donor sibling. However, there’s a huge departure from the stock design in the side profile. Even in the side profile, the original panels have been carried over upto C-pillar. However, there is a larger overhang and new quarter section in accordance with the MPV format. In fact, even the wheelbase has been stretched bit to ensure the new version is long enough for 3 row of passengers. Even the alloy wheels are new and the red brake callipers add a touch of sportiness. The rear wheel arches look very bold due to the flared treatment.

Finally, the roof rails round of the MPV look. The shark fin antennae and the A, B and C-pillars get a black finish. Overall, the illustrator has done a neat job with creating an MPV out of a B-segment hatchback. The proportions as well as the styling of this Tata Altroz MPV looks just right. While it doesn’t look like the launch of such a model is anywhere in the pipeline, this illustration can surely serve as a good inspiration.

Specifications

The Maruti Baleno rival is on sale with three engine options. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 86 PS and 113 Nm, a 1.2-litreย turbo petrolย engine making 110 PS and 140 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 90 PS and 200 Nm of peak power and peak torque respectively. If it’s ever launched, the Tata Altroz MPV would probably miss out on the NA petrol option due to its lack-lustrous performance. Also, it could command a premium of over a lakh rupees over the hatchback sibling.
