In this latest video, a Tata Altroz collides with a truck showcasing its tough build quality. Altroz is the only premium hatchback in the country with a full 5-star safety rating at GNCAP. That has drawn many customers in who prefer to buy a car with a higher safety rating. Tata Altroz Tests Build Quality of a Truck

The video has been posted on YouTube by Nikhil Rana. He is an ardent supporter of the Safer Cars For India mission and keeps updating content on his channel by bringing in the performance of popular cars during unfortunate incidents. This video stitches together various incidents of the Altroz. In one case, the Altroz hit the side of the truck due to its sudden appearance. Unable to hit the brakes on time, the hatchback hit the central part of the side of the truck. Surprisingly, the damage to the Altroz was minimal. The bonnet and the front bumper received minor scratches. On the other hand, the truck suffered a bent rod indicating the tough build of the Altroz.

Specs

The Altroz comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 86 PS and 113 Nm, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine making 110 PS and 140 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 90 PS and 200 Nm of peak power and peak torque respectively. There are options of a 5-speed manual gearbox or a newly launched DCT automatic depending on the variant. The prices of the premium hatchback range between Rs 6.20 lakh and Rs 10.15 lakh, ex-showroom. The direct rivals include Hyundai i20 and Maruti Baleno.
