The popular and trendy tablecloth challenge has been buzzing the internet as a Tata Sierra owner tries to replicate what the Harrier EV did. To demonstrate the performance and acceleration of fast cars, this technique was used to grab eyeballs as a part of marketing endeavours by many companies. Similarly, the Indian auto giant also showcased one such instance where its Harrier EV successfully performed this act. For now, let us take a look at the details of this latest case.
Tata Sierra Aces Tablecloth Challenge
This post stems from moto.sapien on Instagram. The visuals capture the owner of the original Tata Sierra from the 1990s. Firstly, it is impressive to see that he has kept it in great condition. He mentions that while the advertisement of the Tata Harrier EV pulling the tablecloth is quite cool, at the end of the day, it is simple physics. He ties the tablecloth to the back of his SUV. As usual, there are a lot of things placed on the table. Mostly, these are breakable components like cutlery and glasses.
Finally, the man accelerates the SUV, and it begins to move. The length of the rope is intentionally kept long so that by the time the vehicle gains momentum, the cloth is ready to be pulled in a brisk manner. As the man promised, the tablecloth flew from underneath the things in a flash without disturbing any items too much. Nothing was broken, and he reiterated that this is a simple physics trick and nothing specific related to any particular car. In fact, we have even seen many hysterical memes about this trend.
My View
I understand the logic behind this video, and I believe that most people wouldn’t have been impressed by this trick in the first place. Still, it is a great publicity stunt, which is what advertising mostly is about. The aim was to grab attention, and that it did. Apart from that, the Harrier EV continues to be a compelling proposition in regard to its actual performance, safety, tech, connectivity and premium in-cabin vibe.
