With a slew of new models arriving in the mid-size SUV segment, Tata Motors is expected to come up with a mid-life facelift for Tata Harrier
The Tata Harrier is easily among the more successful models from the homegrown carmaker. Based on the stunning H5X concept, the Harrier impressed everyone with its modern looks when it debuted in January 2019. Around a year later, it even received some updates in the form of a more powerful engine, dual-tone paint schemes, and new mag wheels. Even though the SUV continues to look modern, Tata could soon give it a facelift to bring it back into the limelight. This is especially important owing to the advent of fresher competition in the form of the Mahindra Scorpio N. Here’s a new illustration suggesting what the front fascia of the revised model could look like.

Tata Harrier Facelift
The SUV is likely to get updated front and rear ends. The front fascia will feature some new soft parts, such as an updated bumper with revised headlight housing. The grille could get an additional chrome applique for a more premium look. The new bumper could even carry a revised airdam with a new faux skid plate. Other than this, the Tata Harrier facelift is likely to feature new alloy wheels. The posterior could feature revised taillamps, probably, similar to those on the Safari. While the carmaker is also rumoured to introduce a new logo with the updated SUV, the rendering here uses the current insignia.

The interior of the Tata Harrier facelift is expected to get new upholstery and some new features The infotainment screen is expected to get updated with new connectivity options. A bigger update could come in the form of ADAS and a 360-degree camera. Also, the SUV is likely to get ventilated front seats across most trims.

Specs
At the moment, the Tata Harrier is available only with a diesel engine option. This Fiat-sourced MultiJet II 2.0-litre oil-burner pumps out a maximum of 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The transmission options on offer include a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic unit. The Tata Harrier facelift, though, could come with a petrol engine option. In all chances, the SUV will receive a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline burner that would be made available with both manual and automatic transmissions. However, 4WD will continue to remain conspicuous by its absence.
