The Tata Harrier has time and again proved to be a highly safe car in an event of a mishap but its crash protection notwithstanding, the driver is solely responsible for any sort of careless behaviour

Tata Motors has made quite a name for itself for being a carmaker that offers segment-leading models when it comes to crash safety. Its affordable cars like the Tiago and Nexon have already proven to be great at keeping their occupants safe with 4-star and 5-star G-NCAP scores, respectively. On the other hand, its costlier models (read: Harrier and Safari) are yet to be tested by Global NCAP. Still, they’ve time and again proven to offer maximum protection to their occupants in road mishaps.

The video we have above is of an unfortunate incident involving a test drive unit of the Tata Harrier. As per this video, a customer who decided to push the test drive unit to its limits, ended up losing control and crashing into a concrete wall. As per the available details, the demo vehicle was being driven recklessly at 180 kmph when the driver had to brake hard to avoid crashing into a motorcyclist and a cow. As per the given details, the speed of the vehicle was so high that ABS malfunctioned and the SUV ended up hitting a concrete wall.

Fortunately, the driver could save the motorcyclist as well as the cow. Also, none of the occupants of the vehicle sustained any serious injury. As can be seen, the cabin of the SUV is almost intact and all the airbags deployed to keep the occupants away from harm. Unfortunately, however, the vehicle was badly damaged in this accident. The crash was so severe that the front left wheel broke away from the axle while even the front door got dislodged.
