Tata Motors is definitely not the one to rest on its laurels. After taking the compact SUV segment by storm with the launch of the Nexon, it seems to be gearing up to launch a limited edition of the Hexa SUV. The Hexa has already created quite a niche for itself and is definitely the finest we’ve seen from the homegrown carmaker. With the upcoming special edition, the company now aims to benefit from the increased car sales during the ongoing festive period. Confirming an imminent launch are the spy pictures that you find on this page. That said, we await an official word regarding the launch date and prices of the 2017 Tata Hexa Limited Edition.
As is evident from the spy pictures, the new 2017 Tata Hexa Limited Edition will be available only in a new Metallic Brown shade. Other than the bespoke exterior paint option, the special variant of the flagship Tata model will also come with a handful of styling updates. As is the norm with such special editions, this Hexa won’t boast any mechanical upgrades. Powering the new model will be the same 2.2-litre turbocharged Diesel engine that powers the regular car.

The special model gets the same gloss black front grille with chrome surround and smoked projector headlamps with LED DRLs that are on offer on the regular variant. Even the faux skid plate has been carried over. This special edition gets LED fog lamps with gloss black surround. The 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels have been carried over from the standard model.

In the higher state of tune, this 2.2-litre engine outputs a maximum power of 154 BHP along with a peak torque of 400 Nm. The XT trim even offers a four-wheel drive option. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic unit is also on offer. However, it is unclear if limited edition would offer both the transmission options. What’s for sure is that the special variant will offer the ‘Super Drive Modes’ that are available on the regular model. These driving modes include- Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.
Tata Hexa Limited Edition Mileage
The Hexa offers a mileage of around 12 KMPL in the city. One can easily extract up to 15 kmpl on the highway. This is definitely a decent fuel mileage for a car of this size and with this much power.
Tata Hexa Limited Edition Colours
The new 2017 Tata Hexa Limited Edition comes in an exclusive Metallic Brown shade. It’s not sure if the other colour options are on offer with this special variant. Colour options available on the regular Hexa include-

Tata Hexa Limited Edition Engine and Transmission
Like we have been saying, the limited edition should be available only with the VARICOR 400 engine. This engine made its debut on the Tata Safari Storme. it displaces 2.2-litres and outputs a maximum power of 156 PS along with a peak torque of 400 Nm. For the regular modes, the engine offers two transmission options – 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. However, it’s not sure if the limited edition will also offer both the transmissions.
