Tata Nexon EV facelift ownership review

This has to be the first thorough problems and ownership experience review of the Tata Nexon EV. Capturing over 70% of the market share, the Nexon EV stands as the leading electric vehicle in the country. Building on the success of the internal combustion engine (ICE)-powered Nexon, which has already established itself in the market, the electric version has garnered attention for its blend of modern features, distinctive design, SUV-like aesthetics, and a notable 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP (achieved by the previous generation model with pre-updated NCAP protocols). These factors collectively play a substantial role in the triumph of the Nexon EV. Here are the specifics of this latest ownership experience.

Tata Nexon EV Problems & Ownership Review

The video comes from King Indian on YouTube. He interacts with the owner of the Nexon EV facelift. The latter offers a detailed review of the ownership experience. From the outside, he is totally satisfied with the futuristic appearance of the EV. He loves its road presence and modern elements. On the inside, there is much more to be discussed. This includes things like the quality of the interior. He feels that a Rs 20-lakh car should feel a bit more premium. However, that is not the case here. There are no soft-touch materials on the dashboard. Also, some basic features are missing.

The main issue is that the price of the car comprises primarily of the battery and electric powertrain. Hence, even though this car costs well above Rs 20 lakh, this price doesn’t offer many premium functions inside the cabin. It remains, more or less, similar to the regular compact SUV in its ICE version. Things like a cabin light for the rear passengers, no powered seats, a lack of cup holders, the sunroof cover blocking the view, no light for the passenger vanity mirror, etc. are some areas where the Indian auto giant could’ve improved a lot. Finally, he also feels that the boot space is slightly lower since it belongs to the compact SUV segment. He is also able to squeeze out a decent range of anywhere between 300 km and 350 km on a single charge.
