Tata Punch (5-star NCAP) has time and again proven to be a sturdy offering that keeps occupants safe even in major accidents
Launched in October 2021, the Tata Punch has quickly established itself in the market with its mini-Harrier looks, spacious cabin, and sufficiently frugal engine. Another huge quality of this SUV-inspired hatchback is the 5-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. The Punch is surely a safe car with a high crash worthiness as the same has been proven time and again in accidents reported by the owners. The video we have today shows pretty much the same even though the crash has been so intense that the hatchback has been deformed and at the first glance, even looks like a coupe-SUV like the BMW X6.

This Tata Punch had a major accident in which it has rolled over. This has resulted into the roof of the vehicle caving in due to the C-pillar being collapsed. This has led to the car looking like a coupe SUV if you quickly glance at the side profiel. The above car is the Adventure variant that has been customized with alloy wheels, fog lights and premium upholstery. The accident was so big that the chassis of the vehicle has bent while the engine mounts have broken. The video host goes on to state that even the ECU unit of the vehicle needs to be replaced as it got damaged due to a short circuit. At the front, the bonnet has been damaged while the bumper has got torn from the impact.
The side profile shows that almost every panel of the vehicle has sustained damage. Thankfully, the occupants of the vehicle were kept safe by the A-piilars, which, even after receiving major damages in the roll over, didn’t collapse. Both the airbags were deployed to protect the occupants from the impact. The rear-end, however, has deformed beyond recognition as the roof has caved in and led to the entire posterior being deformed. The vlogger says it will take up to Rs 3.5 lakh to repair the vehicle. Out of this, the new frame would itself cost Rs 1.8 lakh. This is a pretty huge amount if you take into account that a new Tata Punch Adventure costs roughly Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showrooM).
