Tata Tiago

Check out the impressive build quality of Tata Tiago that recently went through a high-speed crash but did not injure any passenger.

Tata Tiago and Tigor are among the safest cars in India scoring a nice 4-star safety rating in the NCAP crash tests. We have seen many examples of the hatch going through severe accidents and still saving the lives of passengers. Here is another accident which this Tiago had to go through but came out strong.

This accident happened on NH65 highway where the Tata Tiago was going at a speed of 70-80 km/hr. Suddenly, it lost control and climbed on a divider. Following which, it crashed into an electric pole right in the middle. The speed is definitely high but the impact seems comparatively lower.

The front portion has crumpled up and it has hit right where the airbag sensors are located. The bonnet, grille and front bumper have received major damage. However, despite that, the windscreen has not cracked and even the pillars are strong. The alloy wheels are also intact without even a tyre burst.

The airbags have also been deployed as you can see. All passengers inside walked out safe, without any injuries. The insurance will definitely cover this and the total repairing cost will be under a Lakh itself. Usually, a car is treated as a total loss if the damage is more than 60%, that includes damage to the structure.

Tata Tiago gets a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 86 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT. Prices of the hatch start at Rs 4.69 Lakhs up to Rs 6.73 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Soon, it is reported to get the BS6 1.2 Turbo petrol motor which will not be termed as JTP.
