Overspeeding is the most common cause of road accidents in India. However, people still don’t refrain from driving at crazy high speeds.

In this latest crash video, Mahindra Thar is involved in a high-speed crash while people were taking a test drive. This is quite bizarre as one never really tries high-speed scenarios while taking the demo car out on the test drive. Thar is a 4-star NCAP rated lifestyle SUV that is a highly capable off-roader. People don’t generally associate it with high-speed accidents. But there are always those people who just can’t control their thrill for overspeeding. This is one such case.

The video has been uploaded on YouTube by Nikhil Rana. He keeps posting such videos to raise awareness among Indian car buyers regarding the importance of investing in safer cars. In this video clip, a Thar is seen severely damaged lying in a field. The accident is reported to have occurred in Goa. A group of people were test driving Mahindra Thar when the driver decided to perform a high-speed overtaking manoeuvre. Meanwhile, the tyre of the Thar went out of the road and due to high speed, the Thar toppled multiple times before hitting a pole and landing in a field nearby. The impact was quite serious, but the passengers were wearing seatbelts. As a result, they did not sustain any serious injuries.

This incident teaches us a couple of lessons. Wearing a seatbelt could be the single most effective measure to prevent detrimental damage to you and your loved ones. The safety rating of the car will determine the impact on the body of the vehicle. Hence, all these factors become relevant in ensuring the highest levels of road safety. The second takeaway has to be that one should not drive a demo car in such a fashion under any circumstance. Obviously, such rash driving should not be encouraged ever, but it is even more serious if you are doing it on a demo car.

We urge our readers to adhere to all the traffic rules. Overspeeding should be avoided at all times. This would help you take control in some situations where it is not even your fault. If you are driving within the speed limits, chances are that you could even save the lives of others.
