Volkswagen Vento

Check out this modified Volkswagen Vento diesel which gets an ECU tuning taking its torque figures above 350 Nm!

Volkswagen Vento is an enthusiast’s delight and a very good example of a finely made German sedan. Not just its turbo petrol engine, but also its diesel engine is loved by many diesel heads. Here’s one such example that most of you will love to drive. All modifications done are neat but not so simple underneath.

This modified Volkswagen Vento Diesel from Tamil Nadu produces 148 BHP and 350 Nm of peak torque. Normally, it produces 108 BHP and 250 Nm of torque, which anyways has enough grunt to make you revving hard. With a 40 BHP and 100 Nm rise, imagine how well it can pick up and swiftly cruise past 100.

To achieve those numbers, this modified Vento gets Code6 Tuning Custom ECU Tune, Code6 Tuning Stainless Steel Decat Downpipe and BMC Intake filter. Further, it gets Brembo Drilled Rotors with EBD Yellow Stuff Brake Pads, Genting Performance Front Strut Mounts and Cobra Progressive Lowering Springs.

Cosmetic upgrades include 16-inch VW GTI Salvador Rims, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 ST Rubber and Morimoto D2S 5.0 Projector Retrofit. The rims look a lot amazing and especially with the lowering. The owner has captioned his modified Volkswagen Vento as the “Torque Of The Town”, which feels like a proper caption.

Due to the BS6 emission norms, Volkswagen has discontinued the 1.5 Litre TDI engine of the Vento and Polo. Even the existing petrol engines of the Vento have been discontinued only to be replaced by a new 1.0 Litre three-cylinder TSI engine. The new turbo motor produces 110 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.

The prices of BS6 Volkswagen Vento starts off at Rs 8.86 Lakhs up to Rs 13.29 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices). Even Skoda Rapid gets the same engine producing same figures. Vento continues to rival the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Yaris, but loses the crown of most powerful sedan.
