Indiaโ€™s third largest manufacturer of two-wheelers in India, TVS, has somehow been losing sheen recently because of the absence of a wider portfolio. After the launch of TVS Dazz in Indonesia in earlier in 2013, the same has been caught testingon Hosur-Krishnagiri road in Karnataka. Indonesia is the only country outside India where TVS has its manufacturing unit. 1,00,000 units of twoโ€“wheelers have already been manufactured at this facility in the past 5 years with the target of the current fiscal being 50,000 units.

TVS has already four models on sale in Indonesia. The 150 CC Tormax150, 125 CC Rockz, 125 CC Phoenix, 110 CC Neo XR and now 110 CC Dazz run successfully on Indonesian roads. Even after getting the news that the bike has been caught on camera during a road test in India, still it is not clear if ย the company is thinking of the launching the step-through bike in India as the company is keeping mum about it’s possible launch in India till now.

TVS Dazz Spied Testing In India

Being the least expensive TVS two-wheeler in Indonesiaโ€™s market, Dazz carries a 110 CC four-stroke air-cooled engine to deliver 8.34 bhp and 8.3 Nm of torque. It is a light weight bike weighing just 93 Kgs and it has a tank capacity of 5.3 litres. It is also equipped with front wheel disk brakes, tubeless tyres, mobile charger and an electric start. Two telescopic forks take care of its front suspension and rear suspension is handled by coil spring.

During the launch of 125 cc TVS Phoenix, the company had announced that it would launch one new product every quarter, and it was followed by the 110 cc Jupiter scooter, which is likely to be followed by Scooty Zest in early 2014.ย From its manufacturing unit in Indonesia, TVS exports nearly 50 percent of the vehicles to other Southeast Asian countries, the Middle East and West Africa, where TVS vehicles best suit for gown-like attire.

TVS Dazz

Itโ€™s a rumor, that TVS might decide to close down its manufacturing plant in Indonesia if the Dazz fails to spread its dazzle, but the CEO denies this and has a different vision. His vision is long term and he is ready to accept initial losses. If it does go ahead with the launch, the TVS Dazz will be in the market somewhere in the middle of 2014.
