Zepto to Soon Start Selling the Kylaq Sub-4-Metre SUV

The age of quick commence and 10-minute-delivery is upon us and things are getting more fascinating by the day

You will soon be able to order your Skoda Kylaq to be delivered by Zepto to your doorstep! Yes, you heard that right. The latest commercial announces the collaboration between Skoda Auto India and Zepto. The latter, for the uninitiated, is a Bengaluru-based quick-delivery startup which is already the market leader in this space. It specializes in 10-minute-delivery for groceries and other such items. Currently, it is operational in 10 metropolitan cities across the nation. However, now it plans to commence the deliveries of your cars as well.

Skoda Kylaq Delivery by Zepto

This latest TVC from zeptonow and skodaindia has been showcased on Instagram. The advertisement starts with the Zepto delivery agent arriving at the Skoda dealership to pick up the order. The Skoda official directs him towards a Kylaq. Thereafter, the visuals capture the delivery agent driving a flatbed truck with the Kylaq tightly secured on the back and wrapped in a Zepto branding material. In the end, we see the Skoda x Zepto collaboration announcement which says ‘coming soon’.

We know that this partnership is aimed at allowing Skoda Kylaq buyers the option of getting the SUV delivered to them at their doorstep. Needless to mention, for Zepto, this will be a lot different than merely picking up groceries from the market and swiftly delivering them to the customers in around 10 minutes. A lot of precautions will need to be exercised to deliver a car safely. Also, it will take some time for Zepto to gain the trust of the car owners that they can safely handle a car. In any case, we shall see how fast this service starts and how people embrace it. Also, it will be intriguing to see if Skoda offers other cars for delivery and if other carmakers join in as well.

Skoda Kylaq

Skoda Kylaq is the latest vehicle from the Czech carmaker in India. It is a compact SUV which rivals the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV3XO and Maruti Brezza in our market. It carries a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder TSI turbo petrol mill which produces a healthy 115 PS and 178 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This mill pairs with either a 6-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission. This configuration allows a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 10.5 seconds with a top speed of 188 km/h. It ranges from Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh, ex-showroom.
