It’s no secret that General Motors has been struggling in India for a while now with below par performances from almost their entire product portfolio. The American automobile giant has recognised these issues and charted out a long term plan and set out on a path of recovery which includes a brand new manufacturing facility and new models. The first of these new models is the recently launched Trailblazer SUV. Before we come up with a comprehensive 2015 Chevrolet Trailblazer review, we take a look at what plans Chevrolet has for the Fortuner-rival.

The Trailblazer is priced at INR 26.4 lacs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and is available in only one trim for now. This new SUV from GM will face stiff competition from the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the upcoming Ford Endeavour among others. The pricing might seem a little higher than what would have been ideal but that is down to the fact that the Trailblazer is being imported to India as a completely built unit or CBU.

Only one engine and transmission option is being offered by Chevrolet-
|Length x Width x Height||4878x1902x1847 mm|
|Kerb Weight||2068 kg|
|Wheel Type and Size||18 inch Alloys|
|Ground Clearance||231 mm|
|Engine Type/ Displacement||2776cc, 4-cyliner turbo-diesel|
|Acceleration (0-100 km/h)||-NA-|
|Transmission (Gearbox)||6-speed Automatic|
|Air Conditioner Type||Automatic Climate Control|
There is no 4WD option on offer. Although most people do not take their SUVs off the road and they are confined to the busy city roads, it still is a glaring omission. Also, only a 6-speed automatic will be offered with the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The design is a mix of typical Chevrolet SUV styling seen on bigger SUVs sold internationally with a healthy dose of soft-roader like design cues giving it enough street presence to please most buyers. The rear is a bit similar to that of the Fortuner with simple rectangular tail lamps and wraparound glass area.The Chevrolet Trailblazer gets a very butch looking exterior as well which would definitely work in its favour. The interiors are neat and come finished in black and beige with a healthy dose of glossy black elements on the centre console.
