BMW has launched a lower cost variant of BMW X3 SUV in Germany at a starting price of 36,200€ Euros which translated to approximately Rs. 25 Lakh when converted to Indian rupee. This is the cheapest BMW X3 model propelled by a fuel efficient turbocharged 2 litre diesel engine which delivers a mileage of close to 17 KMPL as per the Euro test cycles and complied with the Euro 5 emission norms. On 25th August 2011, BMW India has launched its  SUV BMW X3 New model in India with improved features and aesthetic appeal. The new BMW X3 in India starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs.41.20 Lakhs for the 2 litre Diesel engine variant. The new X3 is larger in size, packs more features, and is more comfortable than the old generation model. BMW has also announced that they will be increasing their production capacity in India to 11,000 units annually from the previous 10,000.
