It will be a costly affair to own bikes and cars in Haryana given the State Administration decides to raise road taxes across the state. In accordance with the latest official reports, the State Government took this decision after considering the road tax hike proposed by the Transport Department. The hike has mainly been made for the vehicles including both two wheelers and four wheelers that are used for private means. Tata Aria, the most ambitious car from the Indian automobile manufacturer Tata Motors has hit a dead end of all sorts in the sales department. The car sold just 4 units in February 2013 and Tata Motors is witnessing a drop in the sales of their cars on the whole as well. Honda Cars India Limited has announced a price hike across all their models from April 1st, 2013 onwards. The hike in excise duty on the SUVs has been an issue of concern for the automobile industry and the hike in the customs duty on the high end luxury cars and motorcycles has not received very well too. The Finance Minister might see this as on opportunity to promote smaller cars and CKD assemblies in the longer run but the current effects of the hikes in the Union Budget are facing a lot of criticism from the automobile industry.
