Honda has silently launched the 2018 Honda Activa 125 in the markets. It gets minor feature upgrades which can be seen on the Grazia. It is priced at Rs 59,621, commanding a premium of Rs 2,000 over the previous model. Also, minor cosmetic changes in the scooter can be mainly seen from the grey alloys.
Finally, the Activa receives some stylish element to brag about. Honda silently launched the 2018 Honda Activa 125 with some extra features and minor cosmetic changes. The facelift version gets similar features as the Honda Grazia. It gets an LED headlight, a semi-digital instrument console (with an eco-mode and service due indicator), four-in-one ignition, and a separate switch to open the seat. Cosmetic changes include a new chrome exhaust muffler and grey alloy wheels. However, these new cosmetic elements are available only on the top-end trim. Rest of the features and mechanical specs remain the same. It is priced from Rs 59,621 to Rs 64,007 (ex-showroom), demanding a premium of Rs 2000 over the previous generation model. However, it still carries the same old simple look like the other two Activas, but with more features.
The scooter runs on a 124.9cc engine that produces 8 BHP worth of maximum power and 10.5 Nm worth of maximum torque. It runs on the usual CVT transmission. The mileage recorded on this scooter is around 47 KMPL, which is ideal for a 125cc scooter. It also gets two new matte paint schemes – ‘matte crust metallic’ and ‘matte selene silver metallic’. Most of these features first come in Honda Grazia, which eventually came to Activa 5G too. The scooter comes in three variants – Drum, Drum/Alloy and Disc.
The features of the scooter include an LED headlight, a semi-digital instrument console (with an eco-mode and service due indicator), mobile phone charger, four-in-one ignition, Central Braking System, 3-step rear adjustable suspension and a separate switch to open the seat. Other performance features include front telescopic suspension with a disc brake and a full metal body. The biggest feature is that it comes from the most trustworthy and preferred scooter brand, Honda. Barring the Activa i, rest of the scooters in its lineup receive same features.
Currently, the 2018 Honda Activa 125 competes with Suzuki Access 125 and Mahindra Gusto 125. While the other 125cc scooters like TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia, Aprilia SR 125 and Vespa SXL 125 also are in competition, but these scooters look way much stylish than the Activa. These scooters cater, particularly to the youth. However, similar price range keeps them all in the competition circle.
