Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest selling car manufacturer, plans to launch a range of new cars in 2018. While the most important of all the upcoming Maruti cars in India is undoubtedly the new Swift, there’s another important new launch in the pipellne, We are talking about the facelift of the Ciaz sedan, which is very likely to be a part of the range of Maruti cars at Auto Expo 2018. As you can see in the images we have here, the test mule of the upcoming 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift is currently testing with a heavy dose of camouflage. However, we are pretty sure that the India-spec car would look a lot like the Suzuki Alivio Pro. While the rear won’t have many changes to speak of, the front-end will carry a new radiator grille, updated front bumper, and possibly refreshed headlights. The new grille would have two horizontal slates and will become the major highlight of the new look. The interior is also likely to get some minor visual changes and some new features.

Specifications won’t see any significant change. The Ciaz will continue to be on sale with the very refined 1.4-litre K-series Petrol engine that is available with both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions. The 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced Diesel engine will continue with a 5-speed manual transmission. In future, the Ciaz will get a new 1.5-litre Diesel that is being developed in-house at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. This engine will be cleaner and possibly more efficient than the current Fiat-sourced motor.

2018 Maruti Ciaz Facelift Launch Date

From the looks of it, the Ciaz facelift is still a few months away from its market launch. That said, it’s pretty much for sure that the refreshed car will make its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. Subsequently, it’s expected to launch soon after the beginning of the next commercial year.

2018 Maruti Ciaz Facelift Price in India

It doesn’t look like the prices would change by a significant margin. Maruti has always been known to price its products very competitively. The new Ciaz should be no different in this aspect. While the prices won’t see much of a change, the Ciaz will likely become a better value-for-money proposition as it will offer a fresher design and more features.

2018 Maruti Ciaz Facelift Specifications

Specs won’t see any significant change. Currently, the upper-C segment sedan is on sale with 1.4-litre K-series Petrol eand 1.3-litre Diesel engines. While the former is available with both 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmissions, the latter comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission. There are good chances that current engine and transmission options would be carried over to the upcoming facelift. In future, the Ciaz will get a new 1.5-litre Diesel that is being developed in-house at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. This engine will be cleaner and possibly more efficient than the current Fiat-sourced motor.
