Yamaha FZ-S is one of the first naked bikes in India and is still going strong in its 150-160cc segment. Yamaha prepares to update the bike as per the upcoming emission norms and safety regulations. Check out its price, mileage, images and top speed.
Yamaha is globally known for its performance and agile bikes. Right from the 150cc motorcycles to the legendary R1, all have the Yamaha performance loaded up.
In the Indian market, its best selling bike is Yamaha FZ-S. FZ adapts the street style naked looks combined with great mileage and performance. Yamaha has made it an all-rounder and well-balanced bike.
Recently, spy pics and a video of 2019 Yamaha FZ-S came up. Through the spying, we saw that the body received some revisions and it gets updated features list. There are chances of an addition of full LED headlamps, ABS and a revised instrument cluster.
Currently, it goes against Apache RTR 160 4V, CB Hornet 160R, Gixxer and Pulsar NS160. Currently, it goes against Apache RTR 160 4V, CB Hornet 160R, Gixxer and Pulsar NS160.

The latest version of the FZ-S FI has gone on sale at an ex-showroom price of Rs 83,042. Compared to the earlier model, the new version is roughly Rs 1,000 costlier. However, the slight price premium is justified through the special paint job.

The 2018 Yamaha FZ-S FI gets a rear disc brake. But there is no other change in the specifications. It continues to get its juice from a 149 cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that comes mated to a 5-speed manual Transmission. The engine produces a maximum power of 13 bhp @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 12.80 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine is known for delivering a good mix of performance, mileage, and refinement. It gets a fuel capacity of 12 Litres.
As there are no changes in the specifications of the motorcycle, even the mileage remains the same. The FZ-S FI can deliver a maximum mileage of 50 KMPL. IN most conditions, the bike can offer an average mileage of roughly 45 KMPL. The overall riding range of the bike is around 600 Kms in a full fuel tank.

The bike follows FZ16’s ‘Triple Muscular Concept’, portraying a macho image of the bike. One of the earliest naked street bikes, it gets a lot of muscle lines with decals over the body. Other than the special paint scheme, the bike continues to offer a really butch styling. The front fascia makes the bike look meaner and leaner in our opinion. It gets a single seat arrangement, which is common in this segment. The instrument cluster gets a digital treatment as well and from the looks of it, seems like a pretty neat unit too. It also gets clear lens indicators. Further, the fact that this bike comes with black-painted engine goes on to give the motorcycle an all-black finish. The FZ series of bikes has already garnered a fan following owing to its muscular looks and strong street presence.
The FZ-S FI comes in two variants, which are as follows:

The sub 160 CC segment is full of naked street bikes. Currently, it competes with Honda CB Hornet 160R, Apache RTR 1604V, Suzuki Gixxer and Pulsar NS160. However, some of these bikes offer more features than the Yamaha bike and also are more fuel efficient. However, Yamaha has its own set of followers who love the other members like the R3, YZF R15 and more.
