2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS

2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS has been silently launched in the market for Rs 1.05 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Here is the first walk around and review video of the updated bike.

Bajaj Auto has discreetly launched the ABS model of Pulsar 220F in India. The updated units have started arriving at dealerships and bookings for the same are also ongoing.

At a price of Rs 1.05 Lakhs, it demands a hike of Rs 6,500 over the non-ABS variant. It still remains one the cheapest ones in the 200cc segment, the first one being Xtreme 200R.

A Youtuber has uploaded the first ride review of the updated model. The bike gets a single ABS unit with rear lift-off (RLP) at the back. This prevents the bike from doing a stoppie.

Visual upgrades onboard include new graphics over the body, a new engine cowl, carbon-fibre textured stickers and addition of ABS indicator. It comes in 4 colour options – Chrome Black, Laser black, Dyno Red and Nuclear Bluet

Now, coming to the video, the Youtuber is testing the 2019 Bajaj Puthe ABS. Even under heavy and sudden braking, the bike came to a good halt. The review states that with the single-ABS and RLP, the stopping power is decent.

Mechanically, 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220F continues with the same engine and mechanics. It gets the 220cc DTS-i Twin Spark ignition engine. The engine produces 20.9 BHP and 18.55 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

For suspension purposes, it uses telescopic forks with anti friction bush at the front and adjustable nitrox shock absorber at the back.

It uses a 260mm disc brake at the front and 230mm disc at the back. Now, we get ABS and RLP as standard fitment.

Features onboard include split seats, digi-analogue instrument cluster, Dual headlamps (Projector and Ellipsodial), tall windscreen and clip-on handlebars.

2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220F still continues to compete primarily with Hero Karizma ZMR, because both are semi-faired bikes and get a 220cc engine.
