Ducati Diavel was reported to be sold out at the dealerships, which will be replaced by the new Diavel 1260. Latest spy shots indicate its near launch date.
Ducati Diavel 1260 is reportedly being launched in India by June 2019. Car And Bike has leaked a photo of the crate in which it was imported from Thailand, bearing the name of the motorcycle.
Currently, reports suggest that the less powerful Diavel is sold out completely. All the Ducati motorcycles are imported from Thailand as CBU. The 1260 will now replace the existing model in India.
The new Ducati Diavel 1260 uses a more powerful 1262cc L-Twin DVT, TestraStretta engine, that delivers 159 BHP at 9250 RPM and 129 Nm of peak torque at 7500 RPM.
The earlier model used a 1,198 cc, Testastretta L-twin engine, which comes on the Multistrada as well. The new model now gets Variable Valve Timing and a final chain drive for better performance.
Further, the new Diavel gets a new frame and swingarm for a better lean angle. New exhaust, wheels and suspension are also new. The tail portion has been tweaked as well.
It will be available in Standard and S variants, the latter being the top-spec one. It comes with 48mm Ohlins telescopic forks and Ohlins monoshock at the back. The standard variant is available with 50mm USD forks at the front and preload rebound adjustable monoshock at the back.
Electronics onboard include Bosch Cornering ABS, Three Riding Modes (Touring, Urban and Sport), Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducati Power Launch and Cruise Control. The top-spec variant will also get a quickshifter system.
The prices are expected to be near to the current Diavel. The standard variant might for Rs 18 Lakhs, whereas the top-spec S variant might demand Rs 20 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
