The next-gen Hyundai Xcent will pack new features on the inside and will get a complete makeover on the outside.
The upcoming 2020 Hyundai Xcent might take the design inspiration from the recently unveiled Grand i10 Nios. The term Nios means for more, be it in performance, space or features.
The Nios suffix on the 2020 Hyundai Xcent not only gives the car an aggressive look but also provide modern technology inside so to survive with the competition. Just like the Grand i10, the present generation Xcent will not be discontinued knowing its popularity among taxi operators.
The rendered image from Indianautosblog shows the front fascia with projector headlamps. Just like the Grand i10, the cascading grille seems to have been grown and gets LED DRLs on either side. The blacked-out triangular housing is for the fog lamps and the Hyundai badging just above the grille on the bonnet completes the look.
The side profile will see the new machine cut, dual-tone alloy wheels as seen on the Grand i10 Nios and the bottom of the window line gets chrome treatment. The wrap around taillights, shark fin antenna will continue.
The cabin inside is not shown but seeing the history of Hyundai in the past years, the manufacturer will provide some detailing inside. For starters, a new dashboard design with a new multi-function steering wheel.
It could also see a new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and also feature the BlueLink, connected car technology. The positioning of AC vents can be revised and so will be the fabric of the upholstery.
The mechanicals for the next-gen Hyundai Xcent may not change and it’ll’ continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor generating 83 bhp with 114 Nm of peak torque. And the 1.2L turbocharged diesel engine producing 74 bhp with 190 Nm on tap. Both the engines will be BS6 compliant and transmission options include 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
