2020 Mahindra THAR

Here is another incident that happened with the 2020 Mahindra Thar as it fell into a ditch. However, it was rescued by Mahindra’s own star.

Since the 2020 Mahindra Thar has been unveiled, it has been falling into various incidents. Test drives have also begun properly and people are testing it to the maximum limit they can. However, in this process, many units of new Thar has been damaged. Here is another example where a test drive went wrong.

As you can see an enthusiastic buyer, was probably trying to make a turn and did not see this garbage pit. As a result, the front tyre went inside the pit and could not come out. The ditch was deep as the belly of the SUV is almost touching the ground. These garbage pits look like just some garbage on road but have a hollow space inside.

To help the 2020 Mahindra Thar in getting out, the dealership has sent a humble Mahindra Nuvosport. This has to be one of the earliest subcompact SUVs India ever saw. A rope has been attached to the back of both the cars and one person can be seen standing on the side step of Thar to increase the weight this side.

Very easily, in just a couple of seconds, the Thar comes out properly. As the weight was shifted towards the other side, the 4X4 system and traction control was working better. All variants of Thar come with 4X4 system and a low range transfer case as standard. However, other off-road features are not available on the base-spec AX variants.

New Thar is priced from Rs 9.80 Lakhs up to Rs 13.75 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Powering the SUV are two engines, including a 2.0 Litre NA petrol and a 2.2 Litre turbo-diesel engine, both paired with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter. Features onboard Thar include cruise control, roll-over bar, hill descent/ascent control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and much more.
