2025 Renault Kiger Facelift Review

The sub-compact SUV now gets a revised styling along with the addition of tons of new-age amenities inside the cabin

As a part of the media drive, I recently got the opportunity to review the new 2025 Renault Kiger facelift. Kiger is among the most budget-friendly cars in this class. That has been its key selling point ever since it entered the Indian market in 2021. Even with tough rivals in the segment, it has managed to record strong sales. In fact, the French carmaker also ships it from India to global markets. Still, a proper facelift was expected for quite some time now. Therefore, this launch is creating a lot of buzz in the market. Here is what I thought about the new sub-compact SUV.

2025 Renault Kiger Facelift – Exterior Styling

We know that facelifts often get updated styling and the new Renault Kiger facelift is no different. The first thing one notices is the new visual identity marker with the new logo. In addition, the grille is now much sleeker in comparison to the outgoing model. Furthermore, the SUV gets a fresh bonnet, a stylish and slim front grille, a new bumper design, Tri-octa LED headlamps in a horizontal layout, small fog lamps on the outer edges, a tough skid plate, and a bold-looking hood. On the sides, it shows off wide wheel arches with black cladding, thick fenders, a dual-tone finish, blacked-out pillars, sturdy roof rails, side body protection, premium 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a silhouette that stays familiar.

At the rear, the design remains close to the current Kiger with sharp C-shaped LED taillamps, a spoiler mounted on the roof, a shark fin antenna, a sporty rear bumper, and a rugged skid plate. In addition, the SUV comes in 7 appealing colour choices, with two fresh shades – Oasis Yellow and Shadow Grey – added to existing ones like Radiant Red, Caspian Blue, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, and Stealth Black. Hence, the overall road presence is greatly enhanced.

2025 Renault Kiger Facelift – Interior and Features

Just like on the outside, the interior is also fresh, along with plenty of new functionalities to pamper the users. The first aspect which catches the eye is the dual-tone dashboard theme in contrast to the grey in the pre-facelift model, which gives it a distinct character. Interestingly, there is a multi-view camera (not a 360-degree camera) for added convenience. I also like the frameless IRVM, ventilated seats and 6 airbags as standard across the range. A few things which I wish Renault had changed are the pull-to-open and push-to-close door locks and the tight space for the driver’s hand while fastening the seatbelt. Apart from that, some of the top highlights are:

  • 8-inch Floating Touchscreen Infotainment Display
  • Premium 3D ARKAMYS Surround Sound System
  • Multi-view Camera
  • Automatic Headlamps
  • Rain-sensing Wipers
  • Wireless Smartphone Connectivity
  • Dual-tone Dashboard
  • Premium Ventilated Leatherette Seats
  • New Upholstery
  • Enhanced Noise Insulation
  • 21 Standard Safety Features
  • 6 Airbags
  • Hill Start Assist
  • ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts
  • ESP
  • E20 Compatibility
  • Traction Control
  • Drive Modes – Eco, Normal and Sport
  • Rear AC Vents
  • Cooled Glovebox
  • Multiple USB Charging Ports
  • 6-speaker Audio System
  • 405-litre Boot Space
  • Rear Armrest and 60:40 Split Seats
  • Belongings Take Away Alert Feature

Specs and Price

The updated Renault Kiger facelift continues with the same engine and gearbox choices. Buyers get a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 72 PS / 96 Nm and 100 PS / 160 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. The certified mileage figures stand at 19.83 km/l and 20.38 km/l, respectively. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, an Easy-R AMT automatic, and an advanced X-Tronic CVT automatic. This makes sure the demands of all kinds of buyers are addressed. The prices range from Rs 6.30 lakh for the naturally aspirated petrol variants and go up to Rs 11.30 lakh, ex-showroom, for the turbo.

Driving Impressions

Finally, let us get to how this car feels to drive. Since the powertrain and transmission combinations are the same as the outgoing version, there aren’t all that many changes to the driving dynamics either. In the turbo petrol version, the performance and acceleration feel adequate but nothing too extreme. The approximate 12-second time to reach 100 km/h from standstill is quite impressive for a product in this space. One key component I wish to discuss is the NVH levels. Now, the French auto giant claims that it made significant updates to better NVH levels.

However, during my driving experience, I couldn’t make out all that much of a difference from the pre-facelift Kiger. The inherent 3-cylinder vibration is still there. Also, there are no changes to the mileage figures either. The SUV boasts three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sport. In terms of driving dynamics, the car is sure-footed. The body roll is contained quite neatly. I felt, for a car of this segment, the ride quality is quite plush and the handling is confidence inspiring. All in all, the value for proposition aspect of the new 2025 Renault Kiger facelift continues to remain its USP. Let us see how well the customers embrace it.
