Premier 118NE Driven from Maharashtra to Leh-Ladakh

It is not every day that one witnesses a restored classic car taking on the harsh mountainous terrains of Leh-Ladakh

In a rather inspirational occurrence, a classic Premier 118NE was taken from the plain regions of Maharashtra to the high-altitude mountains of Leh-Ladakh. This is quite unbelievable on multiple counts. In recent times, we have seen many people performing outrageous activities and sharing them on social media. This results in people getting inspired and imitating such acts. As a consequence, we keep witnessing such unique instances courtesy of social media. For now, let us take a look at the specifics of this case.

Premier 118NE Driven 6,500 km from Maharashtra to Leh-Ladakh

This post stems from der_techniker_neeraj on Instagram. The visuals capture the iconic vehicle amidst the scenic terrain of the Himalayas. The white-coloured classic car has been photographed against the backdrop of the mighty mountains of Leh-Ladakh. Going by the description of this post, it becomes clear that 4 friends decided to take this legendary trip across the nation. To drive 6,500 km across a diversified route in a car which is decades old is not easy.

In fact, we get to know from the description that the owner has invested lakhs of rupees to restore this vehicle. That is expected since the car is over 35 years old. To keep it in running condition in itself is quite commendable. In fact, that also highlights the passion and care the owner has for this vehicle. With hardcore restoration work, the owner feels confident to put it through the treacherous terrains across the nation, particularly in the Himalayan region. The images shown in this post confirm that it has safely arrived at some of the highest passes in the world.

My View

While it makes little sense to take a 3-decade-old vehicle to some of the highest mountain passes on the planet, it also emphasizes the passion people have for their cars. Furthermore, it brings forth the reliable engineering work that certain car restoration players deploy to ensure that there are no mechanical failures. In any case, I would like to appreciate the efforts and conviction of these 4 friends to achieve such an incredible feat. I shall keep an eye out for more such cases going forward.
