nissan magnite vs mahindra thar waiting period

In a crazy piece of information, one Nissan Magnite potential owner received a waiting period of 1 year and 2 months. This is already a tough competition with the Mahindra Thar. We have heard that Thar commands a waiting period of around 1 year in various parts of the country. The reason for that is an unexpectedly high demand and semiconductor shortage. Nissan is also facing the same problem. Magnite is the second-most affordable compact SUV in the country after Renault Kiger. People took a liking to the design and value for money proposition that it offers. Hence, it attracted customers who were looking for other products in the adjacent segment. That is also a reason for this massive demand and long waiting period for the Nissan Magnite.

These images are the written dialogue between the potential buyer and the dealership. The guy booked a Nissan Magnite XV Turbo variant on February 2021. However, he was shocked to learn that the delivery of his SUV was scheduled for April 2022. This is 14 months of waiting. This has safely surpassed the waiting period of Mahindra Thar. However, the person who booked the vehicle was obviously not impressed and says that he will cancel the booking and buy the Tata Punch instead. Now, this is a precarious situation where the entire industry is reeling under the semiconductor supply shortage. Almost all carmakers are suffering due to this issue globally. There were many products in India that got delayed for the launch just because of this. The production was already a problem during the lockdown.
