The Mahindra Group chairman has also gifted Mahindra cars to many inspiring personalities. Recently, internet users were tweeting at him to offer a similar gift to Praggnanandhaa. The youngest chess grandmaster has become the second Indian to reach the finals of the Chess World Cup. Anand Mahindra was quick to acknowledge this achievement and gifted a new Mahindra XUV400 to Praggnanandhaa’s parents. Let’s take a closer look at this inspiring gesture.

Anand Mahindra Hopes to Encourage Indian Parents
As you can see above, an internal user asked Mr Mahindra to reward the young chess prodigy for making India proud by hitting him with a new Thar. In response, Mr Mahindra revealed he has received many similar requests and he would like to encourage parents to introduce their children to Chess. However, he did not choose Mahindra Thar as a gift. Instead, the Mahindra chairman said he had “another idea.” He revealed that the company would offer a Mahindra XUV4OO EV to Shrimati Nagalakshmi & Shri Rameshbabu for supporting their son in pursuing the cerebral game of chess.
With the new gesture, Anand Mahindra hopes to encourage Indian parents to introduce chess to their children. He also took the opportunity to promote the company’s new electric SUV. The Mahindra XUV400 is the company’s next star vehicle. The new vehicle is aimed at customers looking for sustainable technology. In the same tweet, Anand Mahindra also tagged the Executive Director and CEO of Mahindra and Mahindra, Rajesh Jejurikar, who confirmed the delivery of a special edition Mahindra XUV400 to Praggnanandhaa’s parents.

Mahindra XUV400 Specs
The new electric SUV shared its platform with the Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV. However, it gets an elongated wheelbase and distinct profile with EV-specific designs. The Mahindra XUV400 comes with two battery options – 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh. While the 34.5 kWh battery offers a driving range of 375 km, the 39.4 kWh battery offers a claimed range of 456 km. Both options support front-wheel drive configuration. The electric motor offers 150 PS of max power and 310 Nm of peak torque. The company offers the new EV in three options – EC with 3.3 kW charger, EC with 7.2 kW charger, and EL with 7.2 kW charger.
