Yamaha Fazer Special Edition

Yamaha Motor India has launched special editions of Yamaha FZ-S and Yamaha Fazer range of motorcycles in India.

Changes to the Special Edition bikes are minimal and pertain only to the paint and graphics. Both the bikes will receive a special paint option, ‘Battle Green’ and will get new graphics. Both the bikes are still powered by a 153 cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine producing a maximum of 14 BHP @7,500 RPM/13.6 Nm @6,000 RPM, which is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Everything else remains the same, both the bikes get a 100/80-R17 tyre at the front and 140/60-R17 tyre at the rear, they get a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, suspension duty is done by telescopic hydraulic units at the front and mono-shock at the back.

Price

Yamaha FZ-S : Rs. 74,385

Yamaha Fazer: Rs. 79,485

Prices ex-showroom Delhi.

Speaking on occasion, Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President โ€“ Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India said, โ€œThe launch of the special edition of the FZ series is a clear illustration of how the market has responded to our motorcycles in this series. Our strategic intent is to provide customers with stylish new variants of the FZ series to match their personal style. These bikes have been instrumental in catapulting our sales to an all-new level. We have kept the essence of FZ series bikes intact while altering the aesthetics to exemplify the masculine feeling these tough machines are known for. We are confident that these variants too will be an instant hit among the biking enthusiasts.โ€

We are not very excited by the news; there is nothing new about the two bikes apart from the paint job. Yamaha has been tweaking the paint and graphic options on the bikes for a long time. Though both bikes are not bad in terms of performance and features, the competition is far to ahead for these special edition bikes to make any serious impact in the market. What do you think?
