Maruti Jimny vs Force Gurkha

Firstly, the SUVs drive over uneven surfaces, testing the traction and wheel articulation. The Jimny was struggling a bit in the 4×2 iteration as its rear tyre was in the air. But as soon as the 4×4 was engaged, it came out of the predicament quite effortlessly. The Gurkha was also able to complete this task easily. Then came a steep incline over rocks. The Jimny hit the underbelly once it reached the top but there were no issues as such. However, the Gurkha aced this challenge with flying colours. Finally, they organized a hill descent exercise. In all the activities, both vehicles performed exceptionally well, confirming why they are so popular.

The Ford Gurkha comes with a 2.6-litre diesel unit derived from Mercedes, capable of producing 91 hp and 250 Nm of peak power and torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and incorporates a 4×4 drivetrain, highlighting its off-road capabilities. On the other hand, the Jimny has a 1.5-litre petrol engine which generates a decent 103 hp and 134 Nm of peak power and torque.
