This video comes from The Lost Roamer on YouTube. The vlogger explains the details of the construction of this camper van. Initially, he removes the third-row seating of the Safari. Then he calls an experienced carpenter to take measurements. As per these measurements, the carpenter buys wooden boards to install at the rear. The vlogger showcases the entire process. After two days, the final product looks quite impressive. There are drawers for storage, space to position the gas stove with a Butane cylinder, chopping board, and other miscellaneous objects.

He even leaves the provision to install a kitchen sink at a later stage. To make this construction look good, he covers the wooden boards with a special cloth which is generally used to create flooring in offices. This ensures that the surface doesn’t remain slippery which could be an issue if you keep things on it while the car is in motion. Furthermore, he ordered a customized mat which could fit in this limited space. Finally, there is enough space for two people to sleep on this with a straight back. To do all this, he spent just around Rs 15,000 including the labour charges and the cost of materials. This has to be the most attractive aspect of this special vehicle.

Author’s Note

The trend of overlanding has gained popularity in recent times. Individuals are investing thoughtfully in converting their standard vehicles and creating inventive solutions to fulfil their camping requirements. It is strongly recommended to consult professionals for the installation of these modifications in your vehicle. Loose components could lead to persistent and irritating sounds, especially during long journeys to reach camping destinations. Additionally, loosely fitted parts pose potential safety hazards for the occupants. Therefore, professional installation is crucial for both comfort and safety.
