Hyundai sold over 22,000 N Line cars in our market. N Line represents the slightly more performance-focused iteration of a regular car. Note that N Line is different from the hardcore N Division. The latter makes some of the most engaging driving machines on the planet like the i30 N. However, the N Line models come with minor aesthetic tweaks, interior customizations and minor mechanical changes like retuned steering wheel, suspension and exhaust in comparison to the regular models on which they are based. These ensure a lower premium over the regular models without compromising on the practicality of the cars.

This comprises of just the i20 N Line and Venue N Line models. That is a huge number and a testament to the interest customers have for these cars. Out of 22,000, 40% of buyers are existing Hyundai owners. These constitute a 20% share of the total turbo cars sold by Hyundai. Interestingly, 13% of N Line buyers are women. This represents that modern women are also driving enthusiasts and invest in appropriate cars to fit their needs.

Author’s Note

The gaining popularity of N Line cars from Hyundai is a testament to the growing population wanting driving-focused cars. With the addition of Creta N Line, the buyers will have more options to choose from. In fact, going forward, there are reports suggesting the inclusion of the Verna under the N Line banner as well. The inherent body design of the sedan lends itself well to becoming a great handler. Hence, an N Line version of the Verna could also become massively popular. We shall keep an eye out for more details in this regard.
