Mahindra is about to launch the XUV300 facelift in our market. Ahead of the imminent launch, we have some pics of a production-spec vehicle with low camouflage. There have been many sightings of the test mule, with some of them dating back to early 2023. Mahindra has been extensively testing the new vehicle, which will soon take on some high-selling rivals like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza. In fact, even in its current iteration, the XUV300 offers some clear advantages over its adversaries. One of the notable features is its powerful turbo petrol engine, which delivers an impressive 130 hp, the highest in its class. However, with competition in the segment on the rise, Mahindra is preparing to unveil a modernized version that could launch in the coming weeks. Let’s explore the details.

Production-Spec Mahindra XUV300 Seen on Road

The latest multimedia captures a production-spec test-mule of the upcoming sub-4-metre SUV. Hence, the front section is partially visible. It looks like the XUV300 will borrow some elements from its larger sibling, the XUV700. This includes the prominent C-shaped LED DRLs. Apart from that, the XUV300 facelift could get a rugged skid plate and a redesigned front bumper. On the sides, there are stylish machine-cut alloy wheels which remind us of the existing design in the middle variants. This proves that the spy image represents the lower trim. That also explains the lack of request sensors on the door handles. Apart from that, the overall silhouette remains almost similar to the existing model.

Interior and Features

The Mahindra XUV300 has always been among the most feature-packed vehicles in its segment. Hence, in the facelift avatar, we expect it to stay that way. In fact, we could even see the addition of some new amenities like a large panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, the introduction of ADAS, a larger 10.25-inch infotainment display, a large digital instrument cluster, and more. Similarly, the safety equipment will continue to be of the highest standards. Note that the current SUV boasts a full 5-star safety rating at the NCAP. We expect a similar performance for the facelift trim too.

Specs

We anticipate no alterations to the engine and gearbox choices. It’s probable that the vehicle will maintain the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, available in two versions – one with 110 hp and 200 Nm, and another producing 130 hp and 230 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. Additionally, there’s a 1.5-litre diesel engine delivering 115 hp and 300 Nm. Both engines will offer the option of either a 6-speed manual transmission or an AMT gearbox. Whether Mahindra will substitute the AMT with a torque converter automatic transmission remains uncertain. Currently, the XUV300 is priced between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 14.76 lakh, ex-showroom. It’s expected that the facelift will come at a slightly higher price point than these figures.
