Jaguar India has announced the prices for the 2014 Jaguar XJ in Delhi. The flagship sedan from the company had been showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in Febraury 2014 and now the car is here. The biggest news is the fact that Jaguar has now decided to assemble the car in India via CKD kits which will make the XJ a very competitive product in its segment, which is dominated by the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Changes to the XJ in terms if design are almost non-existent, not that it needed any changes in the first place. What is new though is the addition of two new engines a petrol and a diesel, and the discontinuation of the earlier engines. Read more below.
Price
As the XJ will now be assembled in India, the prices have been reduced to make the car more competitive.

Jaguar XJ 3.0 L V6 Premium Luxury : Rs. 92.62 Lakh
Jaguar XJ 2.0 L V6 Portfolio : Rs. 99.21 Lakh
What’s New?
Apart from the fact that Jaguar will assemble the 2014 XJ in India, what interests us the most is the addition of a new engine. It is a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that produces 273 BHP @ 4,000 RPm and 600 Nm @ 2,000 RPM. This engine gives the XJ even more in terms of performance, 0-100 KMPH comes up in 6.4 seconds but the engine is surprisingly frugal too returning 12.9 KMPL.
The engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends the power to the rear wheels. The XJ comes standard with the JaguarDrive Control traction control system which can be set to react to different road conditions. Adaptive suspension gives the car a very plush ride while still being a sharp handler.
