Mahindra Thar Roxx Launched – Exterior Design

On the outside, the Indian automobile giant has made conscious efforts to distinguish it from the 3-door model. The first route to achieve that is the redesigned front grille. The vertical slats are now intercepted by horizontal elements. Apart from that, the round LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs indicate the modern era. The LED lights on the chunky fender and the clamshell bonnet ensures that the Thar retains its retro demeanour. The bumper comes in a dual-tone them with black on the sides and grey in between.

The extreme edges of the bumper even holds fog lamps. On the sides, one gets to greet the new and elegant alloy wheels, side steps to enhance the ingress and egress characteristics, a triangular section behind second row window and colossal wheel arches with black cladding. Finally, the rear section bears a lot of resemblance with the 3-door iteration with compact LED taillamps and the bootlid-mounted spare wheel. All in all, there will be substantial distinctions to set it apart from the regular Thar in addition to the sheer extended wheelbase.

Our View

Mahindra has changed the game with the more practical iteration of the most successful off-roading SUV in the country with attractive prices. At present, the process of ingress and egress for the passengers is quite cumbersome. However, with the addition of a door for the second row occupants, practicality is greatly enhanced. Apart from that, the legroom and the boot capacity have grown significantly due to the extended length and wheelbase. We shall keep an eye out for how well the customers respond to it.
