The mid-size SUV has been going from strength to strength as the demand keeps rising
The Hyundai Creta emerged as the highest-selling car in the country in April 2025. It has achieved this milestone for the second consecutive month. That is a testament to how well the customers are embracing it. Creta has been an immensely popular vehicle in its class for a while now. In recent months, the addition of the electric model has also increased the sales even more. To demonstrate such performance on the sales charts despite the growing competition in this space is quite remarkable.
Hyundai Creta Highest-Selling Car in India in April 2025
According to the official press release, the Korean auto giant was able to sell 17,016 units of the Creta in April 2025. This marks a 10.2% y-o-y growth. This time around, it contributed a whopping 70.9% to the domestic sales of Hyundai. In addition, the Creta was also the best-selling SUV in the period between January and April 2025. During this timeframe, 69,914 customers took home the mid-size SUV. In total, there are over 1.2 million (12 lakh) Hyundai Creta customers in the country. All these stats are an unequivocal indication of the unwavering trust and confidence buyers have shown in Creta.

The Hyundai Creta is available with three powertrain alternatives – a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine which generates an impressive 160 PS and 253 Nm, a familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol mill which generates a decent 115 PS and 144 Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine which belts out a healthy 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. Performing the transmission duties are manual, automatic, CVT and DCT gearboxes. Hence, all sorts of buyers get what they want. The prices range from Rs 11.11 lakh to Rs 20.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
