New Tata Altroz Launched in India

The premium hatchback has been thoroughly updated in almost every regard

The all-new Tata Altroz has finally been launched in India. It boasts tons of new-age amenities, a few styling tweaks and a new transmission option. Altroz is a popular premium hatchback, which rivals the mighty Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. It has been immensely successful due to its safety, design, features and performance. Apart from that, it is available with a petrol, CNG and diesel engines. In fact, it is the only diesel-powered hatchback in the country. The bookings commence from June 2, 2025.

New Tata Altroz Launched

The premium hatchback features a few design tweaks to set it apart from the outgoing model. At the front, we see new Luminate LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs on the top, a prominent 3D front grille with sculpted lines, auxiliary lamps on the edges of the bumper and a sporty lower section. Moving down the sides reveals the 16-inch Drag Cut alloy wheels, flush-fitting door handles (first-in-segment) and a familiar silhouette. The tail end comprises of a connected LED light bar and a rugged bumper. There are multiple colour options to choose from, including Dune Glow, Ember Glow, Pure Grey, Royal Blue and Pristine White.

One of the biggest attractions of the new Tata Altroz is the cabin. The Indian auto giant has done a commendable job of making the occupants feel like they are sitting in a luxury car. Some of the main functionalities incorporate:

Specs

In terms of specifications, the new Tata Altroz comes with three familiar mills – a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine which makes 88 PS and 115 Nm, a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol making 110 PS and 140 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine which generates a decent 90 PS and 200 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. However, the main addition this time around is that of a new 5-speed AMT gearbox with the petrol. Also, you can choose between a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed DCA automatic transmission. Hence, the needs of all sorts of buyers will be taken care of. The introductory prices start at Rs 6.89 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 11.29 lakh, ex-showroom.
