Honda has been aggressively pursuing the Indian two-wheeler segment to get a bigger share of its pie. It is already the second-biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in India in terms of sales and regular launches of products are only helping the company’s case. Honda wants to stop Hero MotoCorp’s domination on the Indian two-wheeler scene and that can only be done by launching budget offerings which are well built, easy to maintain and operate and are very fuel-efficient. Keeping all this in mind, Honda has launched the Honda Dream CD 110 in India. This is the third addition to Honda’s ‘Dream’ series of bikes and may be the last addition to the series too, the other bikes in the series are the Dream Yuga and the Dream Neo. The Dream CD 110 is Honda’s most affordable offering in India.

Price

Dream CD 110 : Rs. 41,100 ex-showroom Delhi

The price for the kick-start-drum brake-alloy wheel variant, no disc brake variant is on offer. The bike will be available to customers from August 2014.

What’s New?

The shape of the bike will be familiar to many, it is not that different from the other Dream bikes in Honda’s stable. The only different thing about this bike as compared to the other Dream bikes are the stickers, engine colour, exhaust cover colour, alloy wheel colour and the ‘Honda’ logo which is just a sticker. The bike will be offered with three paint options: Black and Red (pictured here), Black with Grey Stripe and Black with Blue Stripe. The minimal stickers, basic paint all around etc. save a lot of money and the savings is passed on to the customer. The difference in price between the kick-start-drum brake-alloy wheel variant of the CD 110 as compared to the Neo and the Yuga is Rs. 1900 and Rs. 4200 respectively.

The Dream CD 110 is powered by the same engine that powers the other bikes in the Dream series, a 110-cc unit that produces maximum power of 8.25 BHP @ 7500 RPM and 8.63 Nm of maximum torque at 5500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 4-speed transmission and thanks to Honda’s Eco Technology feature can deliver 74 KMPL (not ARAI figure).

The bike shares the long wheelbase of 1285mm with the other Dream bikes but the other dimensions are expected to be different. The bike is offered with a longer seat to accommodate two people in comfort or some extra luggage. The Dream 110 CD will go up against the Hero HF Deluxe and the TVS Star City.
