Huawei Maextro S800

The world of EVs is being transformed by tech players, including the likes of Xiaomi, Sony and Huawei

The Huawei Maextro S800 has to be among the most technologically advanced vehicles in the world right now. In the last few years, we have seen electronics companies trying to enter the automobile industry. As modern cars become software-defined and use tons of tech and computing power, it comes relatively naturally to electronics giants. Hence, they have the power to create technologically superior cars in comparison to most legacy car marques. For now, let us glance at the details of this latest EV from the Chinese electronics giant.

Huawei Maextro S800

This video stems from DiscoverChinaAuto on YouTube. The long video captures the entire design, performance, tech and comfort aspects of the opulent electric sedan. In terms of appearance, there is a combination of a Rolls Royce and Mercedes Maybach. At the front, it gets a long bonnet, sleek LED headlamps and a premium appearance. The side section, with the dual-tone effect, instantly reminds me of the Maybach. In addition, the chrome finish on the flush-fitting door handles, front fender and around the windows and door panels scream luxury. The disc-type alloy wheels are clearly inspired by Maybach cars as well. Finally, the connected LED taillamps with 3D effects enhance the rear profile.

Despite the impressive exterior styling, I believe the in-cabin amenities are what define this car. There is an exclusive usage of premium materials along with real wood and soft-touch elements. In terms of technology, it boasts a connected screen which runs from one side of the dashboard to the other, multiple gesture controls to call the vehicle out of a parking spot, close the doors, operate ambient lights, operate electronic seats and much more. There is also the option of a colossal screen for the rear seat entertainment, along with a refrigerator with champagne glasses.

Performance and Safety

The visuals demonstrate multiple scenarios, where the Huawei Maextro S800 outperforms the Mercedes Maybach. For instance, the manoeuvrability, uphill driving on snow, handling characteristics, driverless valet, suspension setup, stability, passenger protection during crashes, driving during a condition of a tyre burst and much more. Going by this video, it looks like the Chinese EV can do just about anything, including a crab-walk for those tight spaces in and around a city. As per the latest exchange rates, the EV bears a price tag of around Rs 1.20 Crore. Let us see how the world embraces this EV.
