Hyundai Creta, which has been among the most popular passenger cars in India, completes 10 years in India
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has announced that its popular SUV model, the Hyundai Creta, emerged as the highest-selling passenger car in India for the month of June 2025. According to data shared by the company, a total of 15,786 units were sold during the month. This achievement also makes the Creta the top-selling SUV in the Indian market for the first half (H1) of calendar year 2025, covering the period from January to June. The Hyundai Creta secured the best-selling vehicle position three times during the first half of 2025-in March, April, and June.
A Decade of Market Presence
June 2025 also marks ten years since the launch of the Hyundai Creta in India. Introduced in June 2015, the SUV has maintained its position as the highest-selling SUV in its segment. The model has consistently performed in the competitive compact SUV segment and now accounts for over 1.2 million units sold in India over the past decade. Hyundai even highlights that Creta has evolved from being a city-focused SUV to becoming a vehicle of choice for long-distance travel as well. In line with market trends, Hyundai recently introduced an electric variant of the SUV, aiming to capture a share of the fast-growing EV segment in India.
